Who is Kilroy Maxwell Wright? - Page 2

Kilroy WAS here versus -.- .. .-.. .-. --- -.-- / .. ... / .... . .-. .

Please note I will be using morse code for the so-called “unspeakable phrase” not because of my own beliefs, but because I would be outright banned from Old House communities if I were to write the phrase unfiltered.

Many in the Old House communities believe that writing [-.- .. .-.. .-. --- -.-- / .. ... / .... . .-. .] in ANY language, on ANY surface (digital, natural, or analog) within Old House, risks summoning Kilroy himself (or herself, itself, depending on who you ask. In these writings, I will be using “he” to describe the phenomenon).

The summoning echoes a “Bloody Mary” type scenario. This superstition has such strong roots in Old House lore, guides have reportedly burnt entire Wings when coming upon the phrase. (Note: “burning” a Wing does not refer to literally burning anything, it simply means the “burnt” section of Old House can no longer be safely traversed. Some guides go so far as to not even allow its verbal utterance.

Why is Kilroy being anywhere such a threat? What even is he?

Yet again we bump up against the convoluted and confusing nature of Old House history. Depending on who you ask the question: “Who (or what) is Kilroy?” you will get many different answers. Below is a quick list of the more common explanations. Please note, this list barely scratches the surface, I could write an entire novel on the different Kilroy theories. Also note how nearly every explanation contradicts the one before it:

-He is not real, a made up ghost story amongst the guides. A “meme” simply carried on from the aforementioned WWII graffiti

-He is the “Last Enduring God” (a.k.a. “The Last Living God”)

-He is a Felled Guardian from the first “Red Sun Overworld”

-He is the Holding Guardian of all Overworlds

-He is a Corpse God Priest (a.k.a Rotting God, Dead God, Corpse Anchor) from the Red Sun Desert (see my writings covering the Red Sun Desert and the so-called Dead God Scriptures)

-He is a direct descendent of “The Shepherd” and/or the “Peacebringer”

-He is a Pyre God Priest

-He is a Red Sun Priest

-He is the Corpse God itself

-He is a vessel of the Corpse God (or the Pyre God)

-He is an Akma/shapeshifter/Cold Demon

-He was the first person to discover Old House in our overworld

-He is a trickster type entity who enjoys tormenting trespassers

-He is a benevolent force, trying to help those who are lost

-He is an unspeakable evil, feeding off terror and misery

And so on, and so on.

As I said, if this list were truly exhaustive and detailed, it would take up an entire novel or three. (I am in fact working on a book titled “What is Kilroy?”, expect more details soon).

And there have been several people who claimed they themselves were Kilroy Maxwell Wright. Much like people claiming to be the second coming of Christ, entire cults have been formed around this phenomenon (see the infamous Copperwood Springs incident in Alaska).
